REGION SIXTEEN : FURZTON
THREE2FEW
"Drink A Drink"
Three2Few are:
"When you hear a young and enthusiastic band strike up their ravenous,
feeding-frenzy-like chord
progressions, with the guitarist’s fingers a blur, and the
drummer’s legs and arms moving like a bee’s wings, you
close your eyes and imagine that raw and naked talent is coursing
through their veins. When Three2Few strike
up, you can imagine their veins are riddled with thrombosis.
Don’t get me wrong. I am not saying the band is
without talent. Far from it. The lead singer has the ability to
hypnotise people and implant suggestions into
their heads and the bass player was the Southampton Under 13’s
Inter-School Champion for two thirds of a
season (until he had a disagreement with his coach, threw down the
paddle and began to sulk – a face he kept, and
one that is now internationally recognised as “bass guitar
player’s expression”). Look out for the drummer who is
soon to have a wooden leg fitted. You can’t miss him. We call him
“The Jolly Roger”. All he lacks is a parrot
and an eye patch. And rhythm. Someone once commented of the keyboard
player, that the more they hear him
play, the more they realise what a good... guitarist he is. In truth,
Three2Few have the three key elements that
make a good live band: They write cracking songs; They play them really
well; and They don’t take themselves too
seriously." |
